The Port's Kaurna heritage is worth more than Newport development

We are proposing that the Land Management Corporation, Local Government and State Government hand back the land title deeds for the Glanville site to the descendants of Lartelare in the acknowledgement and recognition of the rich culture that the Kaurna people have to offer and wants to develop.

The visions and aspirations for the area are a response to the community's needs. We believe in the development of a centre as part of the living culture of the Kaurna people and community; a place for the Nunga community to come and feel safe and not be overtaken by non-indigenous society and its values.

With funding to develop the site, the visions and aspirations of the Lartelare Glanville Land Action Group is aiming to have the type of centre that will acknowledge and respect Lartelare, her family and the life they lived at Glanville.

The proposed centre is to strengthen the community through education and preservation of the Kaurna Culture in the Port Adelaide area.
